This is my only town on the first entry of the Animal Crossing series.

Animal Crossing has its charm, but it's almost primitive compared to later games. Its in-game clock only goes up to 2030 (which is only a few years away!), its villagers are quite rude and can paint your house roof without your permission, and its one place you can escape to requires additional hardware.

I've always thought of the villagers in this game as lowering your self-esteem, which is why you can't look up at the sky in this game.

But it has some cool stuff, like playable NES games, and its hourly music is quite charming. I can see how someone in 2003 would have loved this game.

I discovered this game in 2020 when I saw this video and decided to discover that person's channel. I got my own copy around July 2020, and I created a town on there that I looked after for a while.

Unfortunately, I ended up losing that save.

So around 2022-2023, I created this town. I never really played this game much, though. Probably the biggest spike in play time was around January 2024. That's when I discovered this YouTuber.
And you can bet I went down quite the rabbit hole.
