Players:
While Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp might be gacha slop, I have a lot of nostalgia with it, and I'll be sad to see it be discontinued in November.
Pocket Camp is a spin-off Animal Crossing game that Nintendo brought to market in November (October in Australia) 2017. It borrows assets from New Leaf and City Folk.
While New Horizons stopped receiving new updates rather quickly, Pocket Camp stayed in the background, receiving new items, feature updates, villagers, and seasonal events throughout the remaining years of the 3DS and the release and subsequent abandonment of New Horizons.
As such, I can see how people were introduced to Animal Crossing through Pocket Camp, and how fans used Pocket Camp to wait for the next Animal Crossing game.
However, all good things must come to an end, and Pocket Camp's service will end on November 28.
I discovered this game in October 2018 while I was looking at Super Mario Run. I've played it in short bursts since then, with the longest burst being in 2020, when I rediscovered my City Folk town.
But I'll be sticking around until the end!
